Rendering Perspective (Water Colour)

During the class today, our lecturer,Ms Norji had invited Mr Redzwan to teach us how to use water colour and the techniques of rendering by using water colour. It was really an interesting class for me.I had learnt how to use watercolour and the techniques of using water colour. We were asked to choose a picture from the magazine that prepared by our lecturer and render it out on the cartridge paper by using water colour. Not only that, we were also given a paper with drawing on it to render it using water colour.

Tiny Details

We were asked to choose a photo online or find a real object from the categories given by our lecturer. After that,we have to draw a close up look and the details of the picture or object that we chose.I had chose a picture of the details of the watch. We had to draw it out by using the rendering techniques that we learnt during the class. The techniques are hatching, crosshatching, stippling and scribbling. We can apply either only one technique or mix media.I chose to apply hatching technique because i think that this technique suit me the best and it produce nicer effect while rendering. It really takes me very long time to finish this drawing.Although it really tiring, but i had learnt that it is not easy to produce a details artwork,it takes a lot of time and patience to finish a nice detailed artwork.
The picture below are the details drawing by using the hatching technique:

Tonal Values

During the class,we had learnt about the basic techniques of tonal rendering for sketches which included hatching,cross-hatching,scribbling and stippling. After the class,we were asked to take a picture of 5 items that we had.We had to draw according to the picture we took by using those rendering techniques.I had applied hatching technique for my drawing.Maybe its my first time trying the drawing by using rendering techniques, the final result of my drawing does not look good.So i had redo a new drawing by using the hatching technique also.During this task,i had improved my rendering skill and I knew how to differentiate the tonal values.
The picture below is my first drawing for this task:
The picture below are the drawing that i redo for this task:
The differences between the two drawings can be clearly seen when the drawings were being compared.
